A Family Villa That Feels Like Home
We were taken to our family villa in a golf buggy—an exciting moment for the kids! The villa, perched over the water, was simply stunning. It offered everything we needed for a comfortable stay: a large double bed for us, a spacious bathroom with both a bath and shower, and a cozy sitting area that transformed into a sofa bed.
However, we brought along our trusty Bundle Beds for the kids. Unrolling them meant they had their own space to sleep while we could still use the sitting area to relax. This setup worked perfectly, keeping the kids comfortable and settled in their own beds while leaving us free to enjoy the villa’s spacious lounge. The highlight was the villa’s peaceful balcony overlooking the jungle—a perfect spot to relax while the kids slept.
A Pool Designed for Family Fun
For families, the pool at Cove 55 is an absolute hit. Our kids couldn’t get enough of it! With plenty of space to splash around, the pool kept them entertained for hours while we enjoyed lounging nearby. The pool area offers shaded spots for parents to unwind, so we could relax and watch the kids have fun. The view of the sea and the gentle breeze made it a relaxing space for the whole family to enjoy together.

Cove 55’s restaurant catered brilliantly to families. Whether your little ones are adventurous eaters or prefer simpler dishes, there’s something for everyone. Our family loved the variety at breakfast, which ranged from local Sarawakian favorites to Western options. The kids were delighted with their meals, and the staff made sure they were well taken care of. For us, the food was a highlight—delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. And, of course, the poolside cocktails were a treat for parents; the pina colada quickly became my go-to!
Family Adventures in Sarawak
What makes Cove 55 stand out is its proximity to some of Borneo’s best family adventures. For nature-loving families, a trip to Bako National Park is a must. From spotting proboscis monkeys to hiking through lush jungle trails, or even sighting wild boar on the gorgeous beaches, the experience is unforgettable. The Semenggoh Wildlife Centre, where you can observe orangutans in their natural habitat, was also a highlight of our trip and something we’d highly recommend.
Just a short drive away is Kuching, a charming town that’s perfect for family exploration. We loved wandering through the streets, sampling delicious street food, and stopping at local cafes. The kids enjoyed the playground next to James Brooke Bistro while we indulged in the famous laksa. Another favourite was Lau Ya Keng Foodcourt, where we savoured satay while soaking in the lively atmosphere.
