If you've got little ones and love to travel, then take a look at these top sleep tips when travelling as a family, or these easy games to play with kids on a long car journey might just take the edge off a long trip!
We often refer to Bundle Beds as a Secret Weapon for Budget Friendly Family Travel, and are really keen to help create amazing experiences without breaking the bank...
Embarking on a family ski holiday can be an exhilarating experience, but let's face it – skiing is not known for being the most budget-friendly holiday option! However, fear not... We've compiled a set of savvy tips to help you enjoy the thrill of the slopes without breaking the bank. From travel hacks to economical ski gear choices, read on to discover how you can make your family ski adventure both memorable and cost-effective.
1. Travel Smart:
One of the major contributors to ski holiday expenses is travel. Consider opting for low-cost airlines that fly into Geneva, a gateway to numerous ski resorts. Pair this with a budget-friendly transfer to your chosen destination or team up with fellow skiing enthusiasts for a road trip. Shared travel not only cuts costs but also adds a layer of excitement to the journey.
2. Accommodation Options:
Accommodation costs can quickly add up, but with a bit of strategic planning, you can find wallet-friendly options. Explore self-catering alternatives through platforms like Airbnb or local apartments.
For families with kids, think creatively – perhaps consider using Bundle Beds for the little ones instead of splurging on additional bedrooms. PLEASE NOTE: Always check with the rental apartments or hotels to ensure they're on board with this arrangement before booking!
3. Ski Gear Savings:
Renting ski gear doesn't have to be a financial burden. Many resorts offer online pre-booking options for ski hire, allowing you to save money and streamline the rental process.
4. Lift Pass Strategies:
Lift passes can take a hefty chunk out of your budget, but there are ways to navigate this expense wisely. If you're a beginner, seek out resorts with free-access learner slopes. This way, you can hone your skills without shelling out for a full pass. For those eager to explore the entire resort, book lift passes early online to secure deals and discounts.
5. Ski School Savings:
Whether you're a novice or looking to brush up on your skills, ski school is a valuable investment. Optimise your spending by booking lessons online in advance – this often comes with cost savings. Some ski schools even offer bundled deals that include discounted rates on equipment hire. Alternatively, bring along a skilled skiing friend who can provide informal lessons, combining learning with bonding.
6. Dressing Smart:
Outfitting the family for the slopes can be a pricey affair, but there are alternatives that won't drain your wallet. Embrace sustainable alternatives by checking out options like Eco.ski for eco-friendly rental gear. Additionally, don't shy away from asking friends if they have any gear to spare. By embracing a sharing economy approach, you not only save money but also contribute to a more sustainable skiing experience.
To conclude, embarking on a budget-friendly family ski holiday is not only feasible but can also enhance the overall enjoyment of your winter adventure. From clever travel choices to sustainable gear options, these tips open up a world of possibilities for an affordable and memorable skiing experience. So, gear up, hit the slopes, and create unforgettable family moments without the financial downhill! 🎿✨

That's one of the reasons we set up Bundle Beds. Not only do they ensure a comfortable night's sleep for your little ones but also puts the 'budget' back in family travel. In this blog, we'll explore how Bundle Beds can be your ultimate money-saving ally, from turning hotel stays into family-friendly spaces to making weekend getaways with friends both affordable and comfortable...
1. A Cozy Corner in Compact Spaces:
Say goodbye to the struggle of booking multiple hotel rooms or splurging on larger apartments. With Bundle Beds, you have the freedom to transform any space into a family haven. Simply ask the property in advance if it's okay to bring along your Bundle Beds for the kids. This not only allows you to enjoy more intimate spaces but also significantly cuts down on accommodation costs.
2.Globetrotting with Ease:
Did you know that Bundle Beds fly for free when taken with a child under 15 years old? The perks of this don't end at local getaways – take the comfort of Bundle Beds abroad without worrying about extra baggage fees. For more details on this fantastic feature, check out our blog on Bundle Beds flying for free.
3. Real-Life Savings Stories:
Let's dive into real examples of families making the most of Bundle Beds to save money:
Dubrovnik Delight: One family saved a whopping €1800 on a week-long trip by opting for a Bundle Bed instead of shelling out for an extra room. A simple request for a travel cot and the use of their own bed for the youngest member turned a potential financial hurdle into significant savings.
“We found an amazing hotel in Dubrovnik, Croatia and went to book for our family of four. It was €1800 for a week for 2 adults and one child, but to add an extra bed it was going to be €3600 for the family as we had to have an extra room!! I requested a travel cot instead and explained that we’d be bringing our own bed for our youngest, and the hotel was happy with that. €1800 for the room, €1800 saved because of our Bundle Bed. Thank you 😊 “ ASHLEY, UK
AirBnb Affordability: Four families (8 adults and 9 kids to be precise!) rented a 4-bedroom AirBnb for a weekend away with friends, bringing the cost to under £1000. That's less than £250 for two nights' accommodation per family! Bundle Beds made this possible by turning the four double rooms into a family-friendly spaces with a quick unclip, unzip, and unroll.
Beyond the savings, Bundle Beds bring unmatched convenience and comfort to family travels. They self-inflate, eliminating the need for foot pumps or worrying about deflating airbeds in the middle of the night. Whether hosting the whole family during the holidays or planning a group getaway, Bundle Beds ensure a stress-free and budget-friendly experience.
*Responsible Travel Note* It's essential to note that responsible travel is at the core of using Bundle Beds in shared accommodations. Always message the property owner in advance, explain your plans, and inquire about any additional fees to cover utilities. It's a small courtesy that ensures a positive experience for everyone involved.
To conclude, investing in Bundle Beds is not just a smart decision; it's a family travel game-changer! From turning double rooms into family spaces to making international travels more budget-friendly, Bundle Beds prove that comfort and savings can go hand in hand. So, roll out the savings, unclip the convenience, and let Bundle Beds redefine the way your family explores the world – one cozy night's sleep at a time. 💤✈️

]]>
Getting kids to bed on Christmas Eve is no small feat! With the excitement of the season buzzing in the air, there are still presents to wrap, stockings to hang, and last-minute preparations for the big day. It's a magical night filled with anticipation, but convincing little ones to drift off to sleep can be a challenge.
Fear not! We've compiled a list of top tips to help make this special night a bit more manageable. Download & print out our Christmas Eve checklist and let the kids tick off each of the steps... each one taking them closer to sleep (and you closer to the glass of something warm and the last minute present wrapping!)!
Wish people you love a Merry Christmas: Begin the evening with warmth and love. Take a moment to wish family and friends a Merry Christmas. This simple act sets a positive tone for the night.
Get into PJs: Transform bedtime into a festive ritual by donning cosy Christmas pyjamas. The excitement of putting on special holiday sleepwear can make bedtime feel like a delightful event.
Put out your stocking: Involve your little ones in the tradition of hanging stockings. Allow them to choose the perfect spot for Santa to leave surprises, building the anticipation for what the morning will bring.
Prepare Father Christmas’s treat: Encourage kids to leave a thoughtful treat for Santa. Whether it's cookies, milk, or a handwritten note, this gesture adds a personal touch to the evening.
Leave food for the reindeer: Extend the magic beyond Santa by leaving a treat for his hardworking reindeer. You could make up your own little mix of oats, seeds and Christmas sparkles (one of the activities in our Christmas Activity pack), or pop out a carrot to keep things simple.
Unroll your Bundle Bed & snuggle in: Make bedtime extra cozy by preparing a special sleeping space. Unroll your Bundle Beds, creating a snug nest for a night of sweet dreams.
Have a hot chocolate: A cup of hot chocolate can be the perfect bedtime beverage. The warmth and sweetness create a soothing bedtime routine that signals the end of the day.
Read a Christmas Story: Wind down with a heartwarming Christmas story. Choose a favourite tale or make up a little tale about Father Christmas coming and how all children must be asleep for the magic to happen!
Close your eyes and make a wish: Before drifting off, encourage your little ones to close their eyes and make a special Christmas wish. This final moment adds a touch of magic to the bedtime routine.
And just remember - Father Christmas can’t come until everyone's asleep so close those eyes and get some Zs!
We hope this helps to calm your little ones to sleep so that they're recharged and raring to go for a magical and very Merry Christmas!

]]>We were recently introduced to Mel from WILDHOOD festival, and we instantly fell in love with the children's festival that she's created. It is very clear that she wants to make WILDHOOD an accessible festival for the whole family, and her commitment to making it a truly magical event. We loved it so much that we asked her if she could please tell us a bit more about it to share with everyone as we're pretty sure that it'll be a hit with any family!
Here's what she had to say...
One of our enduring WILDHOOD goals is to ensure that our annual festival - created for children and their fun-loving families - continues to be a truly accessible event. More than just an add-on, we stay focused on accessibility when planning our camping festival as a whole because we want immersive, sensory experiences to be integral to the weekend. Nature-based arts and crafts, up-close ecology workshops, interactive music and storytelling, the storytelling tree, and relaxation activities including massage and meditation are woven throughout the festival. In addition, the grounds of our venue, Tullibole Castle, offer access to calming open spaces including woodlands and castle lawns, and designated quiet areas.
With all this in mind, we’re also delighted to confirm that, once again, PAMIS (Promoting A More Inclusive Society) will be joining us for WILDHOOD Festival 2023. PAMIS is the only organisation in Scotland that works solely with people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and their families for a better life.
PAMIS Co-ordinator, Maureen Philip, believes their presence at WILDHOOD brings 'love, fun and laughter, and the opportunity for people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and their families to experience the festival atmosphere and to feel included in the festival experience.’
Maureen also explains why the presence of PAMIS at WILDHOOD is so vital to facilitating a truly accessible experience. 'Having PAMIS at the festival means children and families know there will be a changing places toilet, (the PAMILOO) and there will be fun and accessible activities, too.’ This year, a gorgeous new yurt will be part of the PAMIS offering.
We're also excited to confirm that Pony AxeS will be joining us again in 2023 with pony and trap rides specifically designed for wheelchairs.
In addition, while some of the forest areas may be a little bumpy, the rest of our site - in the grounds of magical Tullibole Castle - is designed to ensure that all can enjoy a multitude of joyful, multi-sensory experiences across the weekend.
As a society - and specifically as WILDHOOD festival-goers - we can also play a collective role in creating welcoming spaces and experiences for all.
'People with profound and multiple learning disabilities and their families enjoy being out and about along with everyone else,' Maureen says. 'They want to enjoy purposeful and meaningful activities in their communities, just like everyone else. They want to have fun. As a society, we can make this happen for them if we accept them for who they are, and if we create spaces in our communities that consider their physical abilities, and provide opportunities for them to have access to environments that facilitate and support their lifelong learning .People with profound and multiple learning disabilities are our best educators if only we took the time to listen.'
Accessible, inclusive, and welcoming is the WILDHOOD way and we're excited to see you at our award-winning children's camping festival in June…
Camping? Roll up with your Bundle Bed!

Family Festivals are such a fun adventure to have, but being prepared and having all the right bits and bobs with you can make all the difference. Here are some top tips for attending festivals with kids:
Before you go, research the festival and make a plan - often there are a few activities that require booking in advance. Look for family-friendly activities, facilities and accommodations, and map out the festival grounds. This will help you make the most of your time and avoid any unnecessary stress when you arrive.

Pack light but smart. Bring essential items like sunscreen, hats, and water bottles, but also bring items that can make your festival experience more comfortable, such as a camping chair, portable fan, or rain ponchos. The Great British weather is rather unpredictable so having a waterproof, a fleece or warm layer and a pair of wellies can make festivals much more enjoyable should it rain!
A crowded and noisy festival environment is fun but can make some parents worried. Make sure your kids know where to find you, consider having a bright flag or something obvious to make your tent stand out form other and establish a meeting point at the festival in case they get lost. You can also get bands that they can wear with your phone number on, so that it's easy to reunite you if there are any issues. Consider bringing noise-cancelling headphones to protect your children's ears.

Attending a festival with kids can be a fantastic family adventure, but getting a good night's sleep can be a challenge. Whilst camping & festivals are often about exploring new places, creating a familiar sleep space keeps kids feeling safe and secure at night. Our boys always sleep with the same snuggly at night so we always bring those. Bring a favourite pillow case or blanket from home (our boys have their own Bundle Beds with bumpers) and consider a practice camp-out in the living room or garden with any new gear.
Also, as festival campsites aren’t known to be the quietest places, we find that quietly playing audiobooks, white noise or sleep music in the tent whilst kids drift off, helps to distract from the general background noise. Take a look at our blog top tips for good sleep at a family festival for more tips & tricks.
It's easy to get dehydrated in hot festival environments, so make sure you and your children are drinking enough water. Bring refillable water bottles and take regular water breaks throughout the day.
Have you seen our blog about the Roarsome Summit taking place in Polzeath in May? It makes for a great festival for the whole family.
]]>Attending a festival with kids can be a wonderful family adventure, but getting a good night's sleep can be a challenge. Here are some tips to ensure that the whole family is well-rested and ready to have fun:
When you arrive at the festival, take the time to find a camping spot that is suitable for families. Look for a quiet area away from the noise of stages and food vendors. Also, try to find a shaded location so your tent won't get too hot during the day.
The weather at festivals can be unpredictable, so be prepared for both hot and cold weather. Keep your kids cool at night with a portable fan and dress them in layers for the evening. Dress in long-sleeved PJs and add a cosy pair of socks and a beanie hat if it gets super chilly.
Creating a familiar sleep space keeps kids feeling safe and secure at night. Bundle Beds have been designed to act like their own bed away from home, helping them to settle instantly. If you don't yet have a Bundle Bed, then bringing a favourite pillowcase or blanket from home can work well. You can also consider a practice camp-out in the living room or garden with any new gear
It’s important to take 5-10 minutes to calm down before bedtime to help the bedtime routine go smoothly. Lie on the sleeping bags or air mattresses and chat about the plans for the following day so that they go to sleep knowing what adventures lie ahead.
Festival campsites can be noisy, so block out the background noise with audiobooks, white noise, or sleep music. Download a few stories on your phone or iPad before you leave, and pop it just out of reach, so that they can hear it, but aren't tempted to use it! Or our two boys LOVE their Yoto Mini players and have a selection of audiobook cards that they play when we're travelling.
By following these tips, you can ensure that your family gets a good night's sleep at festivals and are ready to enjoy all the adventures the festival has to offer.
Happy Bundling!

]]>Are you looking for a family-friendly event that's sure to be a hit with everyone? Well our friends over at Roarsome have launched the Roarsome Summit - a 3-day celebration of the great outdoors and a weekend of family adventures. What's not to love about a family festival down in Cornwall!
We're going to be bundling ourselves along for some family fun (we've got the grandparents signed up too!) and will of course be armed with our Bundle Beds to unroll at the end of each day. We're pretty flipping excited about it all, and especially our Bundle Beds Bedtime stories on Saturday evening... are you going to join us?
We've chatted to Ed & Will, the Roarsome Founders, to find out a bit more...
The family adventure weekend will take place on 19th - 21st May in the beautiful seaside town of Polzeath.
Outdoor activities will take place on Polzeath Beach & Pentire Headland, with camping, product launches, live music and speaking events to be hosted at Southwinds Campsite and Beach Farm Cafe.
We’re proud to be working with some incredible partners, offering an epic programme of outdoor activities across the weekend.
We have a Treasure Hunt that we’ve designed with Mathilde Heu and National Trust that you can do at any point across the weekend. We also have the brilliant Saunas by the Sea set up to enjoy.
For those willing to pay a little extra, Wavehunters will be running Dolphin Spotting Boat Trips in the afternoon and these guys regularly spot whales, dolphins and other marine life on their excursions!
On Saturday morning guests have the option of group surf lessons with Wavehunters on the beautiful Polzeath Beach or Kids Club with Wild Warriors on Baby Bay which includes rock pooling, cave exploring and fire making!
Some people can take a break for lunch and others can join the legend Bill Bartlett for a therapeutic Big Beach Art Class, using rakes to create geometric patterns on a huge scale. Then in the afternoon we’ll head back to the campsite for a Roarsome Olympics and some fun Football Challenges.
In the evening, Bundle Beds will entertain the kids with Bedtime Stories in one of the cosy Bell Tents. Meanwhile, the Founders of Roarsome, Will Chapman & Ed Lewis Pratt will host ‘Treyd Talks’ - an informal chat with 3 brilliant businesses, telling the stories behind the brands and how they’ve been inspired by the great outdoors.
To complete an epic weekend, there will be a big Beach Clean on Sunday morning hosted by Green Folk and Waterhaul at Daymer Bay.
We can't really pick our favourite bits, so can we say all of it...?!
Roarsome Summit is designed to be accessible to families with children of all ages. There are plenty of activities and attractions that will appeal to younger children, as well as options for older kids and adults. Whether you're looking for a fun day out or a weekend of adventure, Roarsome Summit has it all.
Camping - £275
Campervan - £300
Luxury Bell Tent - £465
Daytime - £125
Camping, Campervan and Bell Tent tickets includes a pitch for 1x tent or campervan, space for 1x car with electric hook up, and the weekend’s activities for up to 6 people.
Daytime tickets include activities for up to 6 people on Saturday 20th May only.
If you're looking to bring your own kit (an we hope that includes a Bundle Bed or two!) you can choose between a pitch for a tent or campervan.
Or if you'd prefer to arrive to everything set up and ready, then the legendary Browning Bros will get to the Summit early and prepare you a fully furnished luxury bell tent, complete with a foam mattress, lantern, mirror, side tables, colourful rugs and floor matting!
There are toilets and hot showers which are situated right in the middle of the campsite. Management always keep these sparkling clean and we’ve been impressed every time we’ve visited. There’s also toilets in Beach Farm Cafe too.
Roarsome Summit is the perfect family destination this summer. With its range of activities, family-friendly atmosphere, and camping options, it's the perfect place to bring your family and enjoy a comfortable and unforgettable experience. So why wait? Start planning your trip to Roarsome Summit today and get ready for an adventure you'll never forget!
Worried about Kids Sleep, then take a look at our top tips for kids sleep when travelling.
]]>We've linked up with our friends at Grass & Air to find out their top tips for getting out and about in the darker evenings, as we all know that fresh air is the elixir of sleep! They've given us a whole host of ideas and keeping your kids entertained this festive period, and once back inside you can cosy up in a Bundle Bed for your favourite family movie!
Winter is on the horizon and although we have lots to look forward to (Christmas, of course) the days are shorter and colder making it difficult for outdoor fun. That being said, there’s still plenty to do outside this season, even after the sun has set and it doesn’t have to cost a fortune either. It’s always super important for children to get there time outside and if you’re looking for some free things to do with them, then you’ve come to the right place.
Try stargazing
One of our favourite things about the darker evenings is getting to see all the twinkling stars in the night sky. It really is the clearest time to look for them. That’s why star gazing is a perfect idea for winter, and your children will love it! There are also many stargazing apps to help you like Star Walk 2 or Star Tracker, both of which are completely free! Wrap up your children (maybe in some fleece lined wellies for warmth, or unroll a Bundle Bed for a cosy base), head outdoors and look up at the sky. Who knows what beauty you might find?
Visit a community light switch-on
As the nights begin to get darker, the closer it comes to light switch on season. In every city and sometimes even in many towns, the community comes together to watch the switch on of Christmas lights. This free activity is great because it’s so accessible and fantastic for children to watch. Depending on where you live there is also often music, food, fireworks and even celebrity guests so there’s lots of look forward to. Watching all the lights glisten in the dark is truly magical and your little ones will love it! Check out your local community page to see the dates for your own switch on and enjoy the show.
Have a campfire
There’s nothing cosier than a campfire during winter and it can make being outside in the cold so much better. This is a super quick and easy activity that you can do just about anywhere! You could have one in your own garden or even while you’re camping at a campsite, as there are many throughout the UK that allow them. You could toast marshmallows (yum!), tell stories, play games or even just catch up as a family in the glow of the fire. Of course if you're staying overnight or just fancy some added warmth, you can unroll a Classic Bundle Bed! They’re comfy, they’re easy and your little ones will love them! And they’re not just for outdoors either, head back inside for a Christmas sleepover or festive movies nights!
Do some winter crafts
Who doesn’t love some family crafts? If your children love making things then winter is full of opportunities. When there are pinecones, colourful leaves and acorns everywhere, the list of things you could make is endless! From DIY baubles to seasonal wreathes, your children can get creative and decorate the house with whatever they’ve made. Pinterest is a really good place to start if you need some winter crafts inspiration. It’s a completely free activity as everything you need is right on your doorstep. Spend an hour or two collecting the decor with your children and then get creating. It’ll be so much fun!
Make a winter scavenger hunt
A scavenger hunt is always a great activity and it’s one that the children really love! You could create your own winter scavenger hunt or even find one online as the internet is full of resources. It can take place wherever suits you best, including the comfort of your own garden. You could even do the scavenger hunt in the dark with torches if there are plenty of adults and a safe place to play. It’s an easy and free activity to keep you busy as a family. And hey, maybe there will even be a prize to win at the end.
Play with shadows
And continuing with the darkness, there really is no better time to make the most of your shadows than in the dark, and as we know, winter brings lots of it! As long as you have a light of sorts for this activity, you’re good to go. Your children will love creating funny shadows. You could make a dog, a dinosaur, and maybe even put on a shadow puppet show. It’s a free activity to do wherever you like, and it’ll keep your little ones entertained for ages. A fantastic activity to really get the imagination going.
Create your own glow stick bowling game
How about you DIY a game? If you’ve got any empty bottles or even small containers, then you can make your own bowling set. Yep! Pop some glow sticks in the bottles, grab a ball and get competitive! It really is a quick and easy DIY that will give your children the chance to get some fresh air. And it’s safe to say it’s much cheaper than taking your little ones to a bowling alley, which can sometimes get pricey. Wrap up warm and make your own fun at home.
Hopefully, we have given you some family fun inspiration for the upcoming season. We wish you a wonderful winter and can’t wait to see what you get up to.

]]>We love a fun filled day at the beach – there really is nothing else like the salty sea air and the feeling of sand between your toes! With sandcastles to build, rockpools to explore, lots of splashing in the sea and a well-earned ice cream at the end of the day, there is plenty to keep the whole family happy.
Once you’ve planned where to go it’s time to get packed. We’ve put together a list of some essential items to pack in your beach bag for your next seaside adventure with the family. Let the good times flow!

For ultimate protection from the sun, try our new UPF 50+ swimwear, made using recycled fabric from plastic bottles. These bright and bold swimsuits, surf suits, surf sets, rash vests and swim shorts are designed to make a splash and protect your growing explorers from the sun’s harmful rays.
The forecast may not be balmy, but you know how fast British weather can change. Pack plenty of sun cream, which you can put on first thing and stay protected all day without having to worry but don’t forget to reapply after swimming to keep children’s delicate skin safe.
A sun hat and sunglasses are essential items for protecting growing adventurers on hot summer days and means they can spend all day splashing in the sea and running on the beach.
We may be biased but we think our towelling ponchos are pretty great and a must have for family adventures at the beach. The absorbent towelling fabric will keep active explorers warm and dry after all that splashing in the sea.
Nothing beats wellies for practical footwear! Taking a pair of wellies to the beach may seem odd but as muddy beach lovers, we believe they are an essential for exploring rock pools, pebbly beaches and paddling in the sea.
Don’t forget the classics like a bucket and spade for building the ultimate sandcastle. A frisbee or ball is great for a game of football or volleyball on the beach. If it’s a dry day with a gentle breeze, why not try flying a kite with your little ones? They will love controlling it as it swoops and turns through the air and it’s a great way to build skills like hand-eye coordination and persistence!

Bring all the snacks! With all that running around and splashing in the sea, your growing explorers are sure to build up an appetite quickly. Picnics are great for the beach and are sure to be a hit with the whole family.
We highly recommend bringing a waterproof jacket such as our brilliant and lightweight EcoLight jacket for those unexpected sudden downpours. Convenient and packable into its own pocket, you can easily carry this jacket or hang on your beach bag with the handy carabiner clip.
An umbrella or tent is a great idea to bring to the beach, offering up some shade to keep the whole family cool and protected. On windier days, wind breakers are the ultimate windscreen and can shield your picnic spot, lounging area or nap area in one go.
After all that running around and splashing in the sea, you’ll need somewhere for children to sit and recharge their batteries while eating their picnic lunch. A picnic rug can also double up as a great place for an afternoon snooze for those all-important naps.
Is the beach quite a way from your house? Fear not, we've got some great games to play with the kids on a long car journey. Or if you're looking for something yummy to cook up at the beach, take a look at our campsite recipe for miso soup.
Father's Day is often a fun excuse to get the family together and shower Dad with gifts! Rather than drowning in ties and socks, we thought the Dad's deserved something a bit more adventurous this year, so have put together a few fun ideas for Father's Day...
Our Boosted Bundle Beds make the perfect gift for an adventure loving Dad. With everything that they need for a great night's sleep, whether that be on a family campout, a motorbike touring trip or just a fun den built in the garden. They also make a great alternative to the floor when kids are ill or not wanting to sleep on their own!
With a gorgeous Kin Knife Folding Penknife. The Higonokami is a traditional Japanese folding penknife with a double bevel laminated blade with an Aogami 2 core - beautiful and practical!
We LOVE Small Beer brews... Classic beer styles at a lower strength, but never compromising on flavour. They give Dad a beer for every moment without any of the slowdown. Their 5L kegs would be so much fun for Summer BBQs.
Whether Dad likes to carve the Sunday roast, or getting chopping in the Kitchen, our friends at Kin Boards have so many options for the perfect board for Dad, and they can even personalise them!
What about a pack of 6 ice creams from our FAVOURITE ice cream producer Simply Ice Cream. They have loads of flavours to choose from and will keep Daddy Cool 😎
Can you beat a Yeti cool box? They're incredibly efficient and look awesome, ensuring that Daddy stays cool and looks cool too!
We hope you have a fantastic day celebrating!
Whilst Father's Day can be fun for some, it can also trigger some upsetting memories. We found this post that might help those of you who find Father's Day hard.
]]>Dens can of course take the simplest of forms, with a simple placement of a sofa cushions under the table - but the best sort are built outdoors in the fresh air. Outside, children are offered an ever-changing landscape to challenge their problem-solving skills and ignite their senses.
Equipment.
Get your child to collect & carry their own kit - handing over responsibility but critically ownership of what they need to build their den. We'd (predictably!) suggest a den kit, complete with tarp, ground sheet, mallet, pegs and rope.
Restraint (adult).
There is such a huge temptation for all well-meaning adults to help the kids using their age-won experience and expertise. However, allowing children to use their own ideas, imagination and skills often brings about the best results. They might ask for help - but try not to rush in. Question them on what they think needs to be done, how they think the problem could be solved, and let them try to work it out. There’s no right or wrong way - there’s no ‘failure’. There’s only learning.
Time.
Kids love to be given time from adults. A den-building adventure is the antidote to the formal learning and prescriptive activities that make up much of the term time week. Chat, laugh, explore and congratulate them on their handiwork. The space and one-to-one time that you get with den building is gold-dust for your child and often, they’ll surprise you with their capability and insight.
Snacks.
The only thing better than building a den is eating something delicious in it. Fact. So be sure to pack some good ones to enjoy together.
Enjoy It!
We’ve been making den kits for over 10 years, yet every time we watch a child try building one for the first time, or see a tagged child’s proud ‘I built that!’ face - we feel that shot of pure joy ourselves. We're sure that you'll feel that too.
So go, seek, explore - and take the child/ren in your life with you. Let them set up and make their own secret space, and offer them the robust tools and materials to make it really cool. They might even let you in when it rains!

Our friends at Muddy Puddles are rainwear experts for children and their mission is to keep little explorers comfortable, dry and snuggly no matter what the weather is like. And that’s why we’ve partnered with them, as our Bundle Beds are perfect for campers who like to stay cosy! Together we’re passionate about helping families enjoy the outdoors, even when the weather isn’t as warm as you might like.
Inspired by the natural world, the Muddy Puddles team love to be outside even on chillier days. But they know that it’s not as easy to get outdoors when you’ve got little ones because cooler temperatures mean more planning. The good news is that it’s not as difficult as you might think to dress for cold days, and it only takes a few core essentials to stay warm. They've got some top tips on how to keep your children warm when it’s cold outside...
Carry Snacks… More Snacks
Every parent quickly learns the value of carrying snacks for their children - an adventure quickly drains energy reserves, and a hangry child isn’t fun for anyone.
Take that idea and multiply it when the weather is chilly. It takes more energy for the body to maintain its core temperature when it’s cold, so your children will need even more snacks than usual.
If you’ve got room in your bag, a flask with some hot chocolate will go down a treat and encourage them to play out for longer.
Emergency Handwarmers
If you’re dressed properly for the cold weather - we’ll get to that in a minute - you shouldn’t really need hand warmers. But we all know that things don’t always go to plan, and a glove dropped in a puddle can leave little fingers feeling the chill.
Handwarmers don’t take up much space and are perfect to break out as a backup. If you’ve got a long walk back and hands are cold, hand warmers will stop the complaints long enough to get home.
Proper Clothing
Staying warm in the winter isn’t just about piling on as many layers as you can fit. Not only will your little one look like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, but they’ll also overheat quite quickly.
If you put the wrong type of clothing on your child or too many layers, they’ll overheat and start sweating. And sweat is one of the fastest ways to end up feeling cold…leading to an uncomfortable and unhappy child.
So how should you dress for cooler days out? Here’s what you need:
Winter clothing that protects your child should keep them warm without making them sweaty, so they won’t be inclined to discard their layers the minute your back is turned! A comfortable child will be happy to play outside for much longer and a happy child means a happy parent, so that’s got to be a win!
We're big fans of the Muddy Puddles clothing range, and would highly recommend their kids waterproofs, wellies and children's outer layers, whatever the weather.
We've got an amazing Half Term Challenge full of activities for the kids that they can do inside or out, and it's FREE to access them!

...until you realise that you haven't yet bought the stocking fillers, at which point it's actually a bit of a pain in the ...!
Bundle Beds are the perfect "big gift" for Christmas, but trying to find little items for stockings that won't get thrown away and cost the earth is a tricky one. We've always had the mission to make life easier for families, so here is a list of what we're putting inside our kids' stockings, so you can cross one more thing off the Christmas list and put a little bit of wonderful back into this time of year!
The Mini bird pizza kits are the ones that we went for, knowing that the combination of getting outside, collecting mud and searching for berries to add extra colour will be a huge hit in our house!
We bought the little Elf Peg Doll kit, which we'll bring out on Christmas Day when we just need a little moment of calm.
These are so fab and make hot chocolate making super easy for little ones, and luckily a lot less messy than chocolate powder! And the festive characters add a little magic fo it all too ✨
We bought the Shark and Dinosaur tattoos, but there are so many designs to choose for... We're looking forward to Grandma being given one of these to wear for the day!
Polar Post has SO many products to make Christmas magical, and we were thrilled to have bagged two of these Nice lollies... lets just hope that the boys continue to be Nice so that they can actually have them in their stockings!
Have you ever seen a cuter little chocolate? And whats brilliant is that the boys will love using the boxes for treasures once the chocolate has been eaten.
Our boys LOVE this bath foam, and it keeps them entertained for hours! We often use it with our test tubes and experiment kits to add an extra element of fun.
These are a family favourite, so no stocking is complete without a pack of them!
Bundle Beds are about less stuff and more adventures (after a great nights sleep!) and we're committed to make and find sustainable products that enable people to make the most of their time on this planet. We've put together a blog on some ideas for how to make Christmas magical and sustainable.
Are you struggling to find big gifts for little ones? Don't worry, we've got you covered!
What do you put in your stockings every year? Have you got some suggestions for things that we've left out? Please let me know in an email or on Instagram.
]]>So rather than throw a tonne of presents their way, that will soon get tossed to one side, we've always used Christmas and birthdays as an opportunity to buy the useful, practical and long lasting items that will see them through a good few years.
We're sure that you'll be getting inundated with requests for ideas of what to buy the kids from family and friends, so to make life a bit easier, we've put together a list of our favourites. We're sure that they'll not only be a big hit with the kids, but will fill years and years of fun and adventure, rather than landfill...
Are we allowed to put our own product first? Well if not, we've done it anyway as we really can't stress enough how awesome our Kids Bundle beds are!
If you are struggling to squeeze the family in this Christmas, or you’re heading away but don’t want to pay for expensive extra hotel rooms, sleepless nights or add to your hosts’ mountains of laundry then we’ve got you covered. And, remember, the gift of sleep isn’t just for Christmas. With Bundle Beds you can banish sleepless camping trips, put the sleep back into sleepovers and provide the perfect charging cradle for the family whatever adventures lie ahead.
Finally a super soft and comfortable playmat that is practical yet stylish, and far removed from the garish jigsaw puzzle style foam mat that you want to hide as soon as the kids have gone to sleep!
We absolutely love our Totter & Tumble playmats - one lives in my office and has become my favourite place to do yoga, and the other is in the playroom, making time on the floor playing with the kids SO much more comfortable! They will make ideal mats to put in front of the Christmas tree for the hours of playing that will follow after unwrapping - and you won't be cursing as you stand from sore knees from a hard floor!
"Children grow up so fast"... so let's keep a record of it!
How wonderful to be able to measure how quickly they grow, with the most beautiful Height Chart around. No need to draw lines on the kitchen wall and then potentially loose those memories when you move house... Your Family Rule will become part of the furniture, recording the growth of your children from the moment they’re born. You can add in your friends and family to create a treasured snapshot of memories shared over the years.
We LOVE getting outdoors, and know that getting kids outside to play always creates happy memories. Mud Kitchens are so fantastic for encouraging creative play, and mud has SO many health benefits... from building a child’s immune system to increasing the levels of seratonin in our brains, helping to relax, soothe and calm - absolutely ideal, what's not to love!
Possibly one of the most beautiful kids bikes out there, Bobbin bikes make miniature versions of their adult bikes, but designed for ages 2 years plus.
With colour-matched mudguards, smart little brown grips, matching stabilisers, a "ding-dong" bell and a gorgeous bobbin saddle, it really is a beautiful gift for Christmas and beyond.
Our kids ADORE their Micro-scooters, and when they grow out of them, they're still good enough to hand down to youngers cousins or friends.
The Mini Micro 3in1 Push Along is ideal as a ride-on scooter with a steering handle from 12 months, right through to a perfect scooter ffrom 2 years through to starting school. It will be only scooter you’ll need from first steps to first days at school, and it certainly makes the school run faster and more fun!
An absolutely stunning way to store precious keepsakes, and memories.
The Meminio Memory Cases can be filled with everything from the first pregnancy scan to the tiny hospital wristband, their first pair of shoes to school reports. With enough space to fill with keepsakes for years, this gender-neutral case is the perfect way to cherish and share a lifetime of wonderful memories.
Happy Shopping!
Bundle Beds was founded on the principle of less stuff and more adventures (aided by more sleep!) and we're committed to making honestly crafted, practical and sustainable products that enable people to make the most of their time on this planet. Or a toddler who has outgrown their travel cot?
Or are the toddler years well behind you, but you have a kid who struggles to settle when you travel?
Our Kids Bundle Beds could be the answer your sleep-deprived eyes are looking for! Smaller and lighter than our Classic Bundle Bed, they are made with the same top-notch materials and super soft bedding making them only smaller in size, not benefits.
Here are 10 superpowers we have sown into them so that adventures are defended against the sleep-eating monsters:
1. Super adaptable.
The Toddler & Junior Bundle Beds not only fill that tricky space between travel cot and big kid bed, but at 165cm x 50cm you can fit them into the smallest of gaps. We’ve rolled them out in walk-in wardrobes, on landings, between cupboards, you name it and like nifty shape shifters, they still do their sleep-inducing thing. No space? No panic.
2. Super light.
Never has so much goodness been bundled into only 5kg. Just 50cm x 25cm when rolled they fit into the car boot far more easily than a travel cot or camp bed but you still get everything a Classic Bundle Bed offers you from a super comfy mattress to a 15 tog duvet
3. Super soft.
The deceptively comfy 5cm mattress and dreamy organic brushed cotton sheets make for a super soft landing wherever your space ship lands.
4. Super safe.
If you have a wriggly sleeper, out Toddler Bundle Bed has two inflatable bumpers that can be fitted snugly into the sheet pockets next to the mattress, cradling your little one through the night. And because you can take it wherever you go, it creates a familiar, safe sleep space for your kid however big the adventure.
5. Super accident-proof.
Because accidents happen – especially when excitement is high - we’ve created an add-on waterproof sheet for your Toddler & Junior beds. Brushed jersey cotton on one side, with a waterproof liner on the other they are like an invisible force-field. And your whole kids Bundle Bed is 100% machine washable - so no need to worry about hot chocolate spills!
6. Super green.
The filling for our super-soft duvets and pillows is made from recycled plastic bottles and our metal buckles are tested to a tensile strength of 1.5 tonnes to help our beds fill years and years of adventure rather than landfill. Who knew that a good night’s sleep could also help to save the planet?
7. Super long-lasting.
All of our mattresses are guaranteed for 10 years and at 165cm they last many kids beyond their 10th. And because Bundle Beds are built to last, they can be handed on to younger siblings, cousins and pals when your kid starts to blast off the top of the height chart.
8. Super thrifty.
Hotels and B&Bs can charge upwards of £50 a night for extra beds. The cost of extra rooms are a whole other stratosphere. In just 4 sleeps away, you could cover cost of your Toddler or Junior Bundle Bed and save your pennies for the dream-making fun that really matters.
9. Super nanny.
While we’re on the subject of saving, the kids Bundle Beds are designed to make bringing the kids along easier so you can save on the babysitting. Think of it as a warm and cuddly nanny that doesn’t charge you!
10. Super fun.
With their funky, adventurous and space-themed designs, the Toddler & Junior Bundle Beds are designed to capture little imaginations and ensure that fun and sleep can be happy bedfellows. And we all know that sleep is the greatest superpower of all…
If you've got little ones and love to travel, then take a look at these top sleep tips when travelling as a family, or these easy games to play with kids on a long car journey might just take the edge off a long trip!
Before you start accusing us of being a bit humbug, stick with us. This story is not about removing the magic of Christmas, it’s about making it real, making it better and making it last.
But first we have to start with some facts that we found astonishing (and not in a magical way)*:
Only 1% of gifts given are still being used 6 months later
1 in every 10 Christmas presents end up in landfill every year
You could wrap the entire planet 9 times with the amount of wrapping paper we use each Christmas
The UK generates the equivalent of 3.3. million emperor penguins in plastic waste each Christmas. This is HEAVY
In the UK alone, waste collection company Biffa estimates that we create around 30% more waste than usual over the Christmas period and the above facts are just the tip of the iceberg.
Bundle Beds was founded on the principle of less stuff and more adventures (aided by more sleep!) and we’ve stuck like barnacles to our commitment to making honestly crafted, practical and sustainable products that enable people to make the most of their time on this planet. Bundle Beds mattresses are guaranteed for 10 years, the filling for our super-soft duvets and pillows is made from recycled plastic bottles and our metal buckles are tested to a tensile strength of 1.5 tonnes to help our beds fill years and years of adventure rather than landfill.
But in the aftermath of COP26, we have been asking ‘Is this enough?’ Yes we are a small business but we still have a voice and there are lots of us. As a collective, we could give our 3 year old a run for his money in decibels. And if COVID has taught us anything positive it is the power of individual action. By washing our hands, wearing masks, getting a vaccine we have saved lives. We can shape the way the universe goes with the smallest of acts.
So here are some of the little things we’ll be doing this year to help to ensure that Christmas doesn’t cost the earth:
As Sophie Tait of @trashplastic put it in her powerful and hopeful blog for @clemmietelford recently
“We are citizens not consumers. Our actions are all the ways we show up in this world. What we think, say, write, feel, do, support, buy…are all votes for the kind of future we want”.**
These small but significant steps, as well as committing to only make products that are good for the planet are how we are showing up, now and not just for Christmas. How are you showing up this year? Together, let’s make the list above long enough to wrap itself around the world nine times. That’s more gorgeous than any wrapping paper.
If you're looking for some inspiration for Christmas Presents, then take a look at our blog about Christmas Camping Gifts or perhaps some Christmas PJs that the kids will wear all year round.
