La Pinede d’Excenevex - Camping on Lake Geneva

As parents who love to camp and travel, finding a destination that caters to the whole family can be a challenge. But what if we told you we've found the perfect family friendly campsite on the shores of lake Geneva, that combines sport, relaxation, and stunning natural beauty, all in one place?

Introducing Camping La Pinede d’Excenevex...

...a beautiful 12.5-hectare site located on the shores of Lake Geneva, on the French side near Yvoire.

La Pinede d’Excenevex offers accommodation to suit everyone – from grass pitches for tents and motorhomes to fully equipped rental options – we opted for a mobile home as the weather forecast was mixed, and we had limited time on the Friday evening as we arrived to set up a tent.

Whether you're keen to simply lounge by the pool or prefer to get out and about and explore the nearby attractions, La Pinede d’Excenevex is designed to keep both children and adults entertained and happy. The on-site swimming pools are great, there are bikes to rent, a boat rental service nearby, access to the lake’s only sandy beach, and delicious food and drink options if you’d rather not cook your own.

Here's why we loved La Pinede d’Excenevex and think it's the perfect destination for your next family adventure...

The Location

What an awesome location for a campsite, right on the edge of Lake Geneva, and with a fab sandy beach to enjoy.

The Site

We loved the fact that the site had two swimming pools, one of which was heated so even on the drizzly, grey Sunday morning, we could all enjoy a swim. There is a great little park on site, lots of table tennis tables, a big tent with activities incase of rain. It's a big site, with lots of different accommodation options, and plenty of space for the kids to cycle around and explore.

Food & Drink

They have a great little bar and pizza shack on site, that serves up crepes, meat platters and really yummy homemade pizzas.

They also have a really well stocked shop, which is handy, but is definitely more expensive than the local supermarket. Each morning, you can order pastries & fresh bread to collect from the shop and they really are DELICIOUS!

The Surrounding Area

The beach at the campsite is fantastic with lora of activities for kids and adults, so you could definitely keep yourselves entertained for a good few days without actually leaving the site. However, if you fancy a bit more of an adventure then...
We had a lovely cycle to Nernier on the Saturday morning and loved it. It was a perfect distance for the kids, and was pretty flat, so there were no meltdowns on big hills!  You can hire bikes from the campsite, or take your own, as we did. We had lunch at a really great little place called La Paillotte du Port, which was absolutely delicious. I had steak and chips, Ben had a burger and chips and the boys shared a poke bowl - big thumbs up all round!

We then cycled back via Yvoire, which was absolutely stunning to walk around, and of course we had to have an ice cream from one of the many ice creaam stalls there.  You can get a boat across to Nyon, Switzerland, from Yvoire, which would be a great thing to do if you were staying for more than a couple of nights.

Is it good for kids?

YES! Absolutely brilliant for kids with SO many activities for them to do. From swimming and playing in the park, to hiring pedalos and building sandcastles on the beach. This really is a very family friendly campsite.

Getting There...

We live in Villars, in Switzerland, so we drove 1.5hours to get to the site along the lake. However, if you are coming from the UK then you could fly into Geneva (lots of options with EasyJet, SwissAir and British Airways) and either get a train & bus (approx 50 mins) or hire a car and drive for 50 mins to the campsite.

And don't forget that Bundle Beds fly for free with children under 15, so they'll have kids will have their own cozy, familiar space to sleep without any extra cost!

Please do get in touch to let us know if you've stayed here, or can recommend any other brilliant campsites or camping trips.
